About the CFMS
The CFMS is an organization representing over 8,000 medical students from 15 Canadian medical student societies from coast to coast. We represent medical students to the public, to the federal government, and to national and international medical organizations.-_Le français suit-_
On CFMS National Lobby Day 2017, over 60 students met with MPs and Senators on Parliament Hill to advocate for a federal response to the Opioid Crisis.
The aim of the Opioids Task Force is to synthesize the research and content created by the Research Committee for Lobby Day into a position statement or paper. This would be posted on the CFMS website, and used by the CFMS to further its advocacy efforts and demonstrate continued interest in this area of great concern, to the federal government and other organizations.
The Opioids Task Force will also develop advocacy strategies for increasing the availability of mental health, pain management, and addictions medicine resources, which can help combat this national crisis.

Appel pour candidatures : Équipe de travail sur les opioïdes (dû le 10 novembre)
À l’occasion de la Journée Nationale du Lobbying 2017, plus que 60 étudiants ont rencontré des membres du parlement et des sénateurs pour plaider en faveur d’une réponse fédérale à la Crise des Opioïdes.
L’objectif du Groupe de travail sur les opioïdes est de synthétiser la recherche et le contenu créés par le Comité de recherche pour la Journée de Lobbying en un énoncé de position ou un document politique. Celui-ci serait publié sur le site web de la FEMC et utilisé par la FEMC pour faire avancer ses efforts de sensibilisation et démontrer au gouvernement fédéral et à d’autres organisations son intérêt soutenu envers ce domaine préoccupant.
L’équipe de travail des opioïdes va aussi développer de nouvelles stratégies de sensibilisation afin d’améliorer la disponibilité des ressources en santé mentale, en gestion de la douleur et en médecine de toxicomanie, qui peuvent aider à combattre cette crise nationale.
