To better ensure funding is allocated with our core organizational priority of equity at the forefront, the CFMS-MD Travel Equity Fund was established to replace the CFMS-MDFM Travel Awards. Click here for more information.
To be eligible for this fund, you must opt-in during registration and follow the CFMS Travel Policy linked here. Funding is limited and not all delegates will receive subsidization as a result. Given this is the first time we are providing this opportunity, we cannot estimate how much you will receive with any real accuracy. As a result, we ask that you to seek out external funding from your Medical Society, School, and/or other opportunity as this will be taken into account when allocating the CFMS-MDFM Travel Equity Fund. This will ensure those who need the funding the most will receive it. Receiving external funding is not a requirement for eligibility but will ensure the effectiveness of this EDI-directed program is maximized.
Resolutions must be received by the CFMS SGM Chair, by e-mail at [email protected] on or before Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 12:00 am midnight EST to be pre-circulated to SGM delegates via our website. Additional written resolutions may be tabled if emailed to the SGM Chair by Friday, April 7th, 2023 at 6:00pm EST.
Based on the total number of resolutions received, there is no guarantee that resolutions will be given agenda time at the SGM but every reasonable effort will be made to do so. Business will end promptly as scheduled in the agenda, and remaining resolutions will be referred to the CFMS Board for consideration.
Please note that, as determined by the General Assembly at SGM 2014, any proposed motion that includes spending of $1000 or more must be submitted to the CFMS at least 14 days in advance of SGM, i.e. by Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 12:00 am midnight EST.
Elections are no longer part of the SGM but will be part of a Virtual Special General Meeting in May.
